What to expect

When you come to see a naturopath, expect a lot of questions! As part of your initial consultation you will be asked questions about your different body systems. We will talk about the symptoms you are currently experiencing and your past medical history. It is a wonderful opportunity to talk and really be listened to.

Please bring along the results of any recent blood tests, if possible. Also, either bring or write down the names of all medications and supplements you are taking.

Near the end of the consultation we will discuss priorities for treatment and develop a treatment plan. This is done in conjunction with you, so that you can determine what concerns you most. We may decide on some changes to your diet or some lifestyle modifications. If herbal medicine is required it is either individually formulated and dispensed in liquid form, or an appropriate tablet or capsule is given. Nutritional supplements are used with discretion.

A Follow up appointment is usually made for 2 to 3 weeks after the initial consultation and allows for treatment to be adapted and modified if necessary.

I am very happy to work with your doctor or other health professional to achieve your best possible health. I don’t believe Naturopathy is an ‘alternative’ to modern medicine, but that it works very well alongside it.

Health Funds

Most major private health funds will cover a portion of your naturopathic treatment if you have "extras" included in your cover.
At Harvest Health Naturopathy, HICAPS facilities are available on site, which allows you to claim your health fund rebate on the spot.
